Transport around town and surrounding areas

Getting from a to b while on holiday can be very difficult, do I take a taxi, hire a car, go by bus, or just walk. And of course it depends on how many in your party, do you want to stay local, do you like to tour around, and so on. I guess if it's a family holiday, you would stay local, and take a day trip to see all the sights, most of the many travel agent offices around offer these types of trips. If there is just two of you or like me on my own this trip, my advice is to hire a small motorbike, mine was a 125 Yamaha. There are many places that hire these bike's, all you need is a current driving licence, and your passport of course. The cost is ridiculously cheap, I haggled and paid $6 a day, and that bike took me everywhere, it was so much fun. I recommend staying within a twenty kilometer radious, do not drive too fast and keep your eyes left right and centre at all times. The bike gave me ease and freedom, I would ride down to the jetty to see the fishing boats coming in, and watch the locals net fishing, then to the shopping mall, to cool down for a while, then off to the cafe for some lunch and a beer.Only one beer as I am not a drink driver. Of a night time I would ride to the night market, getting around was so easy with this method. If you want to go further a field, then I suggest travelling by coach, quite reasonable and comfortable, and used a lot by back packers so it must be cheap. Around town there are a lot of bike taxi's which is also a cheap way to get from a to b, very scary though. If you decide to hire a bike, wear the crash helmet provided!!!!!!!.
