My first day, and my destination is Bangkok.
The short trip to the airport from my home takes about three quarters of an hour, every minute of that my mind is dreaming of the Asian delights that are just around the corner. Our new airport is beautiful, and definately has the international feeling to it. Outside the taxi's are arriving, dropping off the smiling people, for the start of their holiday, while just down the road a little the taxi's are queing waiting to pick up the long faced people who are on their way home.Luckily I have a smile on my face right now. Ok, time to get inside, here we go, first job......get rid of my luggage, I am always early getting to the airport, which means that I can be up the front of the check in queue.Once thats all sorted, I feel free. Now being a smoker, i don't go straight through to departure, I normally go outside to watch the planes coming and going and have a smoke. Then maybe have a coffee, and spend some time looking at people and wondering where they are going. The faces show all types of feeings like stress, worry, happiness, sadness, excitement, tiredness and so on. Now its time to go back inside, and go through to departure area.I think this is a bit boring, just waiting, within the silence, with just the odd moan or tear from the infants travelling. Best part here is looking through the big glass window at the Singapore 777 that will fly us to Bangkok. All aboard, is what i have been waiting for, thats it we are all seated and ready to go.Then the mighty roar as the huge powerfull engines thrust us along the runway.I look out the window and see Adelaide getting smaller and smaller, not that it's a big city anyway, be it a beautiful one.Bangkok here i come, all i have to do now for seven hours is eat, drink, watch videos, and sleep!!.
